Thy Will be done, therein is the real secret, Thy Will be done.  Not my will.  When I began to think about what to share with you today I first thought I would talk about instances in my own life when I was in accord with God’s Will.  The more I thought about it, the more I began to understand that when I come in accord with the Will of God, His Will is being done in my life anyway and things go the way that it should.  It’s only when I take control in my day-to-day that my life gets mucked up.  Some questions came up for me, like, what is my true purpose in life?  Am I really in accord with God’s Will and God’s perfect plan for me?  Am I truly always consciously aware of God’s will?  Am I allowing God’s will to be done in my life or am I exercising my free will instead? 

In one of Harold Klemp’s book, The Spiritual Law of Life, some definitions that are given for “The Spiritual Law of Soul” are, “Soul has free will, opinions and intelligence…We have been created out of [Divine Spirit] to have free will, to make our own choices…We have the ability to run our own life according to the laws of Spirit.”  The more I thought about this, the answer became clear for me that many of my challenges were a direct cause of me not being consciously aware and oftentimes too self-willed.  When my life experiences were going well, I was consciously aware. 

I recalled a story my mother told me about my maternal grandmother on more than one occasion.  Or maybe she told me once and it left such an impression on me that it feels as though it was repeated more than once.  The story revealed to me how God will have His way no matter what.  God does not wear a watch and probably time is not even part of His vocabulary.  My grandparents, John and Ella Jacobs were probably born and raised in Mississippi.  They had 14 children.  They were given some land to farm and grow cotton.  My mother said that the sound of God’s voice came to him, day and night; night and day, for many, many years, saying, “John, go out yonder and preach my word.”  When he was tending cattle, picking cotton, tilling the soil he would hear the sound, “John, go out yonder and preach my word…”  He was not able to sleep.  He could not concentrate.  He thought other people could hear the sound that was only meant for him, “Go out yonder and preach my word.”  No one could hear those words though. 

My grandmother would ask him why he wouldn’t obey God and my grandfather would say to my grandmother, “Ella, I just can’t do that.”  He was not an educated man.  He most probably felt he wasn’t worthy.  I was told that he was set on having his way for him and his family, not God’s will.  He took to drink and he was a gambling man, just trying to escape the sound.  The sound haunted him 24/7 and nearly drove him to madness, constantly, “John, go out yonder and preach my word.”  After many years of running from the sound, he was beaten down and gave up.  He surrendered to Divine Spirit and cried out for God to have His way with him, that His Will be done.  He obeyed the sound and found his true purpose. 

What is your true purpose?  My purpose is to serve and be a servant to all life.  I am reminded daily to surrender.  In true surrender you will find what your truth is and what your purpose is.

Dear Friend,

Service to life, to Divine Spirit, is not a job.  Personally, service and serving is merely doing what I love to do.  More importantly though is that I serve with love and for the love of serving life, my beloved, family and my fellow man and what I receive from serving is more love.  This school called life teaches us to serve without thought of return, but one receives something in return anyway.  That’s the Law of Life.  When I do what I love to do and I do my best, the best that I can humanly do and I do everything in the name of the Divine and the rest just falls into place.  I try to put this into practice in my life daily.  It works for me.  Though personally, my ultimate goal is to become a co-worker with God, my first mission is to be a co-worker with that highest state of consciousness, to experience heaven right here, right now.  Heaven is a state of consciousness.  We create our own heaven.  We create our hell.  We create whatever it is that we are experiencing at the moment believe it or not.  My heaven is not necessarily your heaven, or your hell mine.  But why is that, one is might ask?  Well, we all are one in our uniqueness is one answer and we all perceive things differently, I would suggest. 

Have you ever wondered why we serve?  One reason and probably a most important one is that we serve others because of our love for the Creator, and at the same time, serve all life.  Ever wonder how you can be of service to all of life, to all living beings (species of all types, shapes and forms) on earth and otherwise?  By using your God-given talents, of course, like, cooking, decorating, writing, sculpturing, flowering arrangement, reading to someone who cannot read perhaps; accounting, playing an instrument or singing.  Maybe you’re a natural-born listener.  Maybe you enjoy talking—talking to people or about people (in a positive way, of course); one-on-one, or to groups of people, even to yourself.  Whatever your talents are, use them for the good of the whole, for the good of all life, including your own.  To quote a Spiritual Master, “Use what you are”.  “The nature of Soul is to constantly unfold, to keep moving into greater areas of personal awareness.”  Harold Klemp  Whatever your talent is, in whatever area it may be, it helps to keep in mind that you are doing what you love doing the most and that you do it with love and you do it for love and the love it gives to another and the love that you receive.  When working as part of a team, and that is a talent, make sure that you are working in harmony with Divine Spirit while working with others.  Your efforts will always be successful. 

Any service you give is guaranteed to bring to the world you are creating all the joy and happiness and fulfillment that you desire the most.
